Oscar Style Conclusions!

Wow, 2014 Oscars were amazing and made my Sunday evening quite an enjoyable one!!!  I loved watching The Oscars with my neighbor Sarah, we have lots of commentary to share between the two of us which makes it even that much more exciting.   The Academy Awards were chalked full of glamour and gorgeousness galore. Ellen did not disappoint, leaving me falling off my chair laughing with her pizza handouts and celebrity filled selfies.  The fashion, hair and makeup trends were insane and I’m very excited to report my findings and favorites.

Dress Colors – Nude seemed to be the color of the night, but not just any old nude, sparkling, glittery, dazzling, jewel incrusted nude.  What a perfect color to chose for these women to show off their insane figures and what a reward for them to display all the hard work they put into getting them this way.

Although we didn’t see any orchid gowns we sure did see a pretty pastel, Lupita Nyong’O’s Cinderella inspired, Powdery Blue Prada Gown took center stage.  She looked magical as she whimsically graced the stage to accept her Oscar in this flowing and plunging V-neck gown.   As for Jennifer Lawrence, her Orangey-Red Dior Gown was a show stopper for sure, and the sequenced beaded mini she changed into for the Vanity Fair after party was nothing short of amazing!!!   I couldn’t help but notice the  2 inch wide, see-through strips of material going down the sides of her dress which made me proud of Ms. J Law for flaunting her sexy side.   It was no surprise that my beloved Rachel Zoe is who styled her for this event.  Mrs. Zoe also styled Jennifer Garner, Isla Fisher, Sofia Vergara and a few others.  I have no clue how she manages to pull off all of these amazing looks at once.

Makeup TrendsPale Pink Neutrals mixed with a few brighter hughes of violet and orange was the lip trend scattered amongst the A-listers of the night.  Overall it seemed the majority of the makeup was kept very fresh and clean with a pale lip and delicate winged eyeliner.  I love this look as it seems to keep the focus on the gown, hairstyles and outrageously expensive jewels.  I think Olivia Wilde nailed her makeup look best.

Hair Trends – Slicked back sides were seen on Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron and Portia De Rossi. Their Pixies styled away from their face let the focus lie on how naturally beautiful these three women are.  Delicate and glamorous waves seemed to be quite prominent on the ladies tonight which I think was a fabulous choice.  Nothing says ‘Old Hollywood Glamour’ more then the classic 1950’s wave.  This style was worn by Cate Blanchett, Kate Hudson, Sandra Bullock, Jessica Biel and many more, my favorite being Cate Blanchett.

I enjoyed seeing all the glamour and styles and can’t wait to see what next year will bring us! Hopefully next time Leo will take home a well deserved Oscar.
